If this is magic it's the most arcane and nonsense sort.

We have video, we do not have reasonably decent video. The problem is that the video files ultimately operate with the same limitations as the image files. You can create short video clips as part of a post or response, but it's going to be hindered by about the same quality for colour and audio as the image and audio posts.

The most you're going to do is get this video to other monsters, in any case.

If you want something on TV, it's not going to be cheap on that note.

So, at the date agreed upon, the Ring-Spirit follows Noa's "how to fucking find my house" directions - flying up, up, and up past the expanse of mirrored glass that makes up the ...building? foundation? however this location works, eventually reaching the penthouse... which. turns out has a yard, apparently. Huh.

The Ring-Spirit lands in the grass and looks around the place. Anybody immediately visible? ]

[ While he's curious about his surroundings, he came here to get advice, not explore a Kaiba-house. The house is probably really cool (and really trapped, that just feels like a Kaiba thing to do), but. again, the advice thing.

Drake had gone to Marco first, knowing the guy ran a lab and hoping that he could get some help. Unfortunately, it had been the right idea but the wrong lab. After a slightly embarrassing conversation and some directions, he finds his way to Liewen Labs and knocks on the front door.

"Uh, hello? Anyone there? I'm ... I need a laptop?"

Considering the state of the labs, the first one that Drake is meeting is not going to be Noa. The lobby of the labs is large- quite immense, with various seats, signs to elevators, and so on; it's a betrayingly small front entry way in fact, because the moment one gets inside, it's clear the building goes back a fair ways.

At the end of the lobby however, the secretaries are hard at work- one perks up a little bit, immediately recognizing the foreign accent for what it is.

"A laptop? That can be arranged sir- were you in possession of one before, or will this be your first one?"

You'll probably get this from the in-person interview if you meet him but that's Malik, and he is....certainly someone with personality. Ultimately the best I can say is the following- he's used to running a counterfeiting and crime ring based in trading cards, and yes, that was a 'big deal' where he was. Another significant upside with him is that he will put everything into what he does.

Unfortunately he'll put everything into what he does- that includes taking some leaps based on his own logic, so you'll have to work around a bit of that if you end up hiring him. Personally if this is for the casino then he'll probably be a good fit...better than most, at least.

Case in point on that second 'upside' though, he keeps throwing my name around as if that actually means everything...the flattery is nice, the calls are entertaining, but also I'm a little worried about his views on the world.

['Tis the season! It's kind of tricky to figure how to leave a present at a home such as Noa's. Making the present too light in weight means throwing it from across the rooftops is a bit harder to logic out even with minotaur strength. While a heavy and/or fragile present means something would break if Crash went with that method of hand delivery. Also ew at digging his way to the underground lift, might get a rock or particularly hard clump of dirt under a nail... But that's okay, the former mutant has his ways of getting up the building and leaving the gift at the doorstep of a cat's penthouse.

Inside this new comically large box (AGAIN) isn't another blanket (REALLY), but a soft and fleecy open pet bed. Fit for any cat monster, small pets, child-sized creatures, or large dog. Never enough beds when Noa's pet collection threatens to continue accumulating.]

[ The Ring-Spirit and the Fritvaelge are currently gathered in front of a tv, somewhere in Noa's apartments (his living room? Marik's former quarters? the guest room? somewhere). Astrid's seated at a table, fiddling with the Ring-Spirit's laptop, while the Ring-Spirit and the two Fritvaelge men are seated closer to the tv itself. Priscilla stands stiffly behind them, not wanting to crowd into the seating area - the Ring-Spirit's wings take up enough space - and Splot, as per their usual, is happily lying nearby on the floor.

They've recently watched a certain broadcast together, and Astrid looks a bit... uncomfortable. Priscilla is staring her down coldly. Astrid clings tighter to her cactus and clears her throat. ] Well, I just mean... she didn't have to... while he was still alive...

[ The Ring-Spirit shoots her a somewhat incredulous glance. ] She slit his throat, Astrid; that kills people, guy was dead.

[ Astrid fidgets more under Priscilla's withering glare; Bob takes pity and hesitantly offers his own two cents. ] I think the end was a bit... "much", myself... all that blood, wasted. She could have tried to contain it a bit better, is all.

It's a shame more people can't feed like slimes. [ Splot chimes in cheerfully, seemingly oblivious to Priscilla's continuing judgment. ] It's so much easier! Doesn't leave any mess.

Well, they don't, so this is all very good to know - I just wish we'd had instructions like this back while we were still with the Tage. [ Snik, crowded into a corner by harpy wings, is busy jotting things down into a small notebook, as well as sketching a few... concerning... diagrams. His casual mention of the Tage finally disrupts Priscilla's stern disapproval, turning her expression a bit awkward.

Priscilla defused, Bob feels safe to expand on his previous commentary. ] Blood's an important food source for monsters as well, after all - I would have thought Mr. Atem, being a vampire himself, would... oh. Right. I guess he was a little busy by then, wasn't he.

[ The Ring-Spirit grimaces as he's reminded of Ryou's outburst. ] Ugh, as was I. I didn't notice Mukuro calling everyone "cattle" at the time, I would've argued...

[ Priscilla sniffs, her usual disapproval of everything returning. ] Just as well you were distracted, then. That would have disrupted the flow of the presentation.

[ Maybe Noa walks in at some point during this back and forth, or maybe he's been here the whole time; either way, no one seems to be paying him any mind. Does he interrupt? ]

[Well, he had just been thinking about if he should check in on this lot, coming down the elevator- but suffice to say, it looks like he has...nothing to worry about? He's listened to a bit certainly, but ultimately he doesn't seem to know what to do with it all.

He ultimately settles for shaking his head.] Well, at least I don't have to worry about how you're handling things...I don't suppose you know if someone's checked in on Ryou in the meantime? [he asks the Ring-Spirit with a frown.] That didn't exactly feel like a normal emotional break.

[A pause, and he looks back to the others.] ...You should probably stay home for the next while, on that note...as much as there is a door at ground level it's at least not one most can easily get through, and I don't trust the 'neighbors' to treat anyone here well after that. Not for a while at least.

[And, well, unlike he and the Ring-Spirit, all of these guys will stay dead! That's no good.

A pause, and he adds.] ...I can also bring some of the animals down for company if anyone needs...

[Looking at you, Astrid. And hey, two of those animals are planty, so it works for your nymph look.]

Early April, Pre-Arrivals

[Even though there's a perfectly usable entrance into Noa's private complex on the ground that leads to the lift, Crash still opts for making his way directly to the rooftop. It goes a long way to show that the minotaur was feeling back to full health and capabilities.

He's not empty-handed, so to speak. The pig happens to be wearing a backpack full of carefully packed goodies. Well, one could consider the snacks themselves fairly healthy, but the drinks inside not so much. The resident canines are probably barking from inside at the orange visitor already as he walked up and knocked gently on the glass.]

[The dogs do indeed bark- Newf far louder than Tyst, as typical, but while Newf barks from where she's sprawled on the couch, Tyst totters right over to the door to begin scratching at the glass. Muttering can be heard from inside-]

Tyst- stop scratching like that, you'll ruin the glass...

[The scratching stops, but the slight whine of excited half-barks does not. Noa sighs, and soon enough he's come down from his cat-stairs and down to the living area, blinking at the door far across.]

...Oh-

Crash?

[Unexpected- but, he goes to let him in.]

You should have said you were going to visit...you certainly brought plenty, didn't you? What's in there..? [So he asks, already sniffing as if he himself is one of the dogs.]
