....he's a little pleased, in a stubborn way, that an attempt to remove his mind had unpleasant consequences. Hah. He wonders if Shadi would have encountered something similar, if he'd tried to "redecorate"...]
I'm still not convinced your theory's correct! But I'll take a look at whatever you've got.
< GREATFLOOD >
[It takes some time before he replies again. He meant it when he said he had things to collect. Chief of them being what he DID pull from everyone's minds- mostly from when he tried locking them in their own memories. From there there was bits and pieces he got from people who had come here before, but that in itself wasn't a lot.
Then there was what little he put together before then. He hadn't known who the 8 duelists on the airship were, but he had, naturally, known about the God Cards. Hard not to, Seto was running analysis on those for hours.
Still.]
For whatever reason Yugi, things from Egypt have a habit of following you. I met with a tomb keeper who himself had been born into a history of waiting for something, and I'm inclined to believe you may have been that something at this point. Fair warning, he was not happy about that wait. As it is, he wasn't part of the group I pulled into the computer, so I can't offer much more beyond that.
When I drew everyone into the Virtual World, I did so by interrupting a tournament that Seto had put together. It was seemingly out of nowhere- but what I do know from his recent memories was that he had taken a visit to a museum not long before, and spoken very specifically to the woman who is, to put it very lightly, EXTREMELY important to the world of historic artifacts in Egypt.
Of note in the tournament was that it was Ante based. Three extremely powerful cards were in particular part of this, known as the 'God Cards' and accurately so. These were not just slips of paper, they had far more power than that and to that end I explicitly banned them from the duels I hosted in the Virtual Reality. Osiris, Ra, and the God of the Obelisk. I'd ask if those ring any bells, but I doubt it.
Beyond this- looking back on it I noticed there was...something of an anxiety between you and your so-called lighter 'half', not to mention a few others. I can't say specifically why, but for whatever reason, you were both communicating with the other regularly, and there was some reason other than simply getting out and saving people on your minds to drive that anxiety there.
At the very least you all had memories of the tomb keeper being extremely dangerous, and very much intent on some preconceived vengeance that had resulted in at least one coma aboard that aircraft. Once again, I can't bring more than that to the table since not all of the people were there for me to glance at.
Now- I'm sure this doesn't seem enough argument to place you as a separate person; 'perhaps magic just drew them in, told them the puzzle had been solved'. Who knows. Maybe that's exactly it.
But I refuse to believe you would appear as an Egyptian teenager for utterly no reason.
<Player1>
Oh boy. Okay. He sits down, and slowly begins to unravel the message.]
You certainly have a lot to say! The gods sound familiar, but only out of myth. I've not heard of them being made into Duel Monsters cards.
The part about the tomb-keepers matches what I know, though. I met one a few months ago. They certainly are dangerous! We tested each other, but we parted on terms that were peaceful, if not entirely friendly. They know the Millennium Puzzle has been solved, but I don't know what vengeance a member of that clan might be after.
And I've never spoken with my other heart before.
I didn't know it was possible.
[He...he'd like to. He'd like to meet his other self, the person he wants to protect, whose friends and dreams matter so much to the other Yugi, who is so kind...
Sorry, the feeling of loneliness and nostalgia that he's being hit with right now has him distracted from the weird coincidence of him being an Egyptian teenager in his other life.]
< GREATFLOOD >
...Ah.] Mmm from what I gather the game was inspired by tablet carvings...which leads me to wonder if it's something of the game transcending its form or similar.
...I can see why you believed yourself to be another half rather than a whole now however. If you had never communicated with him... ...well.
I can't pinpoint where it was exactly when you both started doing that, but I suspect it was at least before you were to encounter the CEO of I2- he's the one who created the card game, I should note. Seto had rather traumatic memories of him- he could read minds using a millennium Eye.
It's a theory, but you should have been able to counter that by switching between two minds...in theory, anyway.
I would say perhaps you'll both meet sometime in the future, but frankly, that's not a hope you should have.
Just as I would not wish this place on Mokuba, I doubt you would wish it on your partner.
...mm. If it means anything his friends are yours. Genuinely, I mean, they all certainly seemed to care about you as well.
<Player1>
All this is very interesting -- details about his future that may become relevant, if anyone's harebrained escape attempt actually works. If he eventually wins this game. Also who fucked with Kaiba
who's this I2 eye guy
oh, the other Yugi's gonna kick his ass.
Because, apparently, the only one who psychologically traumatizes Kaiba is the other Yugi? It's fine, don't think about it too hard.
But, luckily, this conversation's happening over text so Noa doesn't see the enraged silent stanning that happens here. The upshot is, he's still not fully convinced that "I was inside the Millennium Puzzle and was let out" is supported by the facts. (He kind of doesn't want to think of himself as an entity that was freed from the Millennium Puzzle. If that's true, he's something...he's got to be something very dark, right? Something not human. He'd much rather be Yugi!)
He chooses to keep all this to himself, for now, instead addressing another conversation thread.]
And the rune you mentioned?
< GREATFLOOD >
In the....future...]
Yes, that.
I didn't catch a look at it but my tomb keeper 'friend'- I use that word very loosely by the way- seemed to have something similar to it carved in his back. I only ever spotted the top unfortunately so I can't be sure.
Personally it would be a hell of a coincidence, but then again the fact that I currently carry traits from those three god cards and seem to have them marked in a glow-in-the-dark manner on my back is a pretty incredible coincidence as well.
At any rate I've never tried to translate it- largely because the methods to work on it aren't here, and I haven't really felt the need to.
[He's been busy with important things, like updating your computer,]
<Player1>
I'll look at this mark, if you're willing to show me. I might as well see what these gods look like!
< GREATFLOOD >
I suppose I could however, yes. I'll warn you they're very simple depictions.
<Player1>
It'll have to wait for another night. The sun's almost up! But when you've got the time to spare after it gets dark, I'll come meet you.
< GREATFLOOD >
I tend to keep my evenings relatively free, so it would probably be best to just let me know when you're available next- I can fly you into my house.
<Player1>
Why would I need to fly to reach your house?
< GREATFLOOD >
But fine, no flight.
<Player1>
< GREATFLOOD >
Re: < GREATFLOOD >
Does anyone crash into it?
<GREATFLOOD>
Regardless I hope you learn to turn into a bat soon enough then, or I'm never going to be able to host a visit, apparently.
<Player1>
< GREATFLOOD >
I can turn into a cat can't I? Vampires are associated fairly heavily with most nocturnal animals, but bats are the big ones. It's happened to some, it'll probably end up something you can do as well.
Try not to get eaten by dogs if it does.
<Player1>
[Are they on "teasing about each other's monster traits" terms? Because if so, expect no mercy.]
< GREATFLOOD > Noa every time he makes a warning while O-Yugi is just `IS THAT A -CHALLENGE-` rip
I am being entirely serious!
[HE MEANS IT!!! DON'T GET EATEN!!!]
<Player1>
[HE IS NOT SERIOUS HE IS TEASING BECAUSE IF NOA'S GONNA IMPLY THAT OTHER YUGI'S THE KIND OF PERSON WHO WOULD LET HIMSELF GET EATEN BY A DOG THEN OTHER YUGI'S GONNA CLAP BACK, MR. CAT]
< GREATFLOOD >
[wow]
<Player1>
I'll keep it in mind!
