Having inherited the large tree house in central Ryslig, Noa has been making use of the place as a sort of Vacation residence- a cottage, if a cottage was a massive junk covered tree. It does its job (though he still offers it as a more permanent residence for those who seem they'd like it), and is protected from intrusion by those intending harm, as well as from any source of fire.

Currently, a more thorough info page is being created, but the below images should give a relative idea of how the house looks on the inside. Outside, a large pond houses ducks and fish, while a henhouse stands as home to roaming chickens.

The Liewen Labs have in the past been known for arriving on-scene for new arrivals to collect information and pass about Laptops, but these days Noa has turned focus away from the 'labrat' treatment and farther into the 'support' method. Insisting that they have long since gathered all they can on the state of new arrivals to Ryslig and what connection there could be toward monster transformations, he emphasizes that the new must be shown kindness, care, and a willingness to work with rather than against.

"It is disorienting enough to awaken in a new place with nothing but the clothes on your back- adding in their eventual fate, it is vital that as much help be offered as possible."

To that end, Noa has created the Welcoming Committee.

Liewen Laboratories were a pre-established facility within Ryslig, and both then and now, the building is considered to be one of the forerunners of technology in Bavan City. One of their greatest achievements under the founder himself was The Laptop- but over the course of the time under Noa Kaiba's management of the Bavan Branch, improvements have come to a point where the Laptop Devices are quite different from what a character might find buried in the sand on their initial arrival!

For ease of information, a comparison chart can be found below, followed by a full list of features available on the V-2 Laptops- which are both available for pick up at the Laboratories, and passed out from the Welcoming Committee at certain arrival rounds.

(The Welcoming Committee can't be at each arrival round, due to the dangers that can often arise)

Notably, various improvements were made to the initial model over time as well mostly because people kept forgetting they had such issues, so the chart below can be referred to for the differences in the Laboratory Models! Further information on the V-1 Laptops can of course be found at the link located above, for those who want to find the really old school versions to work with.
ExpandAnd without further ado- )

Leave a comment here with an idea you have for an upgrade to the Ryslig Laptop Devices- keep in mind that they can't just suddenly jump into an advanced state, and ultimately, there may be a chance that an idea can't see fruition (but we won't know without trying!)

If you think a character would ICly suggest it, or even program it themselves, you can leave that here too! (Though for the latter, you may want to drop a question of if it can happen or not at the faq yourself!)

ALL HALLOWS MONSTER REFERENCE LOCATED HERE

FORMER MONSTER REFERENCE LOCATED HERE

NOA KAIBA | MANTICORE
CURRENT INFORMATION: TRANSFORMATION IN PROGRESS
● Cat-Like Facial Features - Noa has large, rounded cheetah ears at the top of his head, as well as a cheetah's nose-these grant far greater hearing and sense of smell than human beings. While his face is devoid of fur, he has 'tear marks' running from the inner corners of his eyes down the sides of his mouth, and the tongue inside his mouth is rough and sandpapery. As a manifestation of his Fog Alignment however, said mouth is actually wider than it appears; when he parts his lips, it is seen that he in fact bears a cheshire grin. It is filled row by row with cat teeth.

● Cat-Eyes - Noa is able to see perfectly well in the darkness, and can see more easily than humans. His pupils are not slit so much as ovular (as are a cheetah's), and though still blue, seem to reflect light at night. The irises fill much of his eye as well.

● Paws, Cat-Body - Noa's paws are padded, and his entire body now resembles that of a typical Sudan Cheetah, with thick coarse fur...though his hair, mixed green and white, trails down along his back akin to a mane. All of his paws are of course clawed, though they are curiously unable to retract. Being so cat-like in the body, Noa cannot stand very long on his hind legs, and is only able to walk on all fours, additionally lacking a true thumb. He stands just under three feet at the shoulder.

● Fur - Noa is furred from the neck down with long, curly fur. His hair blends into it from the back of his neck and down along it, forming what is almost a green mane. The pattern of the coat resembles a young cheetah. It is longer along the back and chest than it is near the abdomen. In the winter, his fur grows longer in the same vein, just as the sudan cheetah occasionally bears a winter coat.

● Large Flight Capable Wings - Noa bears flexible bat-wings resembling a certain dragon, feathered at the bottom with eagle's feathers. By the power of the Fog God, they are capable of grasping and carrying objects as if they were hands. They are quite large when fully spread; approximately 25 feet from end to end in wingspan.

● Scorpion-like Tail - Complete with poisoned barbs that inject victims with a deadly poison, Noa's tail-segmented much like an insect's albeit bearing passing resemblance to another being's tail-is impressively long. Beginning at the width of a more standard tail, it carries on for nearly three meters and gradually tapers to a fine tip by the end. It splits into three forks about half a meter from the end, and at this point is surrounded by various barbs. By the power of the Fog God, Noa is able to launch these barbs like porcupine's quills, enabling a long-distance form of poisonous injection.

● Water Breathing - As he was following the Fog God when she successfully claimed Lager Woods with Corruption, Noa was granted one boon from her power. He chose the ability to breathe underwater, and as such is able to do so with ease despite a clear lack of gills.

● Hunger & Hunting Instinct - While his instinct is not completely in place yet, at least not enough that he can easily hunt for himself in the 'wild' instead of Dyster, Noa bears a hunger for human flesh, and eats it regularly. He is able to easily keep on top of this thanks to the mental 'calendar' granted by the Fog God.

● Deceptive/Tricky Nature - It would seem that since coming into his changes, Noa has grown more proactively 'sneaky' in his actions, particularly when it comes to furthering the ideals of the Fog God.

● Tier 2 Power - As a follower of the Fog God, Noa is capable of a unique ability by her Power. By making eye contact with a victim and remaining entirely silent, he is able to cause them to experience their greatest fear, manifesting first as a sensation of creeping dread and growing steadily into a full hallucination of terror. If kept up for ten minutes, he could even inflict a heart attack-but the sound of his movements count toward his 'silence', making this difficult if his victim fights back.

● Tier 3 Form - Noa is able to take the form of a dragon-like cat, long bodied and scale-backed, known as the 'Mishipeshu'. A form more clearly made for the water, it is difficult for Noa to move upon land in this state, and is best employed as a method of swimming more easily through the water than his standard shape. He can also curl around someone to potentially protect them with his scales.

● Tier 3 Immortality - As a high-ranked follower of the Fog, Noa is unable to die unless his heart or head are destroyed. This enables him to bypass even limitations toward the cold and depth pressure in the air and sky-however, it does not protect him from experiencing the consequences of his situation, and he will feel the pain of all of these things until brought to a place of health again. Additionally, if he is physically injured, he can only heal himself of once fatal wounds while within Dyster.

● Earth Sense — While it is somewhat tricky to utilize as a human being, Noa has a purchased ability from Mana to 'view' beneath the ground and through objects. He must merely pound the ground with his foot, or vibrate something internal to him, and he will be able to take a mental snapshot of what is around him within a 25 foot radius. He can, however, only do this ten times a day.

● Electric Power — Alongside the gift of his new form, Noa was granted a new power-where his Bakunawa form is for use in the seas, his Electricity is a thing to be utilized on land, lest he electrocute himself. This power allows him to manipulate existing electricity, or even create stronger, natural lightning from the clashing heat and cold around him. To this extent, he can even spit it like fire... Though he cannot direct such bursts after they have been released from his mouth.

● Mountain Runes— Thanks to his experience with the Mountain God, Noa bears numerous runes across his body (technically the same rune). Unbeknownst to him, they resemble those of a Blue Eyes White Dragon variant from his world. These runes are virtually invisible on his skin, and they may change once his body begins changes once more.

SO NOA HAS A LOT OF POWERS (this will look prettier later as a side note but getting this up was kinda important)

As a Ryslig CRAU, Noa is a Naga; however, he was also a naga that had aligned with the Fog God for a Good Long Time. And that means he got some perks. A lot of perks.

Many of his powers have thus been nerfed to the point of Explicit Player Permission. This post exists for people to leave a hard set 'No Thank You' for any of them at all, but no matter what, when the window for a power to reveal itself comes up in RP, a warning will be made that allows the player on the other end to determine if it works or not.

There are also powers that he innately has no matter what, which are going to be described first, for the purposes of general awareness.

Strength Monsters are incredibly strong in Ryslig; able to take on 'five men'. For reference, Noa is capable of lifting a car to that end...though it's fairly awkward if he isn't using the weird hand-wing things off his back.

Snake Senses As a serpent-like creature, Noa has access to heat-based vision, as well as the general ability to 'taste' the air. His venom is also a powerful toxin; though people are free to comment likely resistances to such a thing. (Like most snake venom, it needs to enter the bloodstream to be effective anyway, though if he spits it in your eyes, That's Gonna Sting) Notably, he is also cold blooded sooooo...

Shapeshifting Noa is able to shapeshift into a number of different creatures; these are a large viper, an iguana sized 'basilisk' (with an associated humanoid state as this form has a time limit of 8:24 hours), and an enormous, waterbound serpent called the 'Bakunawa'. The latter is large enough to hold a grown man inside its mouth without trouble. ...It also can't move on land due to said mass. Whoops. The basilisk, meanwhile is capable of burrowing to great depths. The snake is a snake.

Added Appendages Noa has four snakes growing from his head; with focus, he can loosely see through them. He also has great 'hand-like' appendages off his back, which operate akin to large baseball gloves. His rattle is the most key however; replacing his need to eat human beings from Ryslig, Noa requires an occasional intake of Energy, which he can manage by shaking his rattle. More on this below.

OPT-IN ABILITIES

The following are all powers that Noa has at his disposal that may or may not work; players are encouraged to choose if an ability will be effective or not, especially since they're not exactly Ryslig Humans.

Eye Related Powers Noa has two unique abilities tied to his eyes, which he uses his glasses to offset. The first requires nothing but prolonged contact. First, a victim is paralyzed-then, the longer they stand, the more they begin to turn to stone.

The second is more dramatic. If Noa begins to speak, and continues to speak, the victim begins to hallucinate their worst fear associated with Noa's words. This spell typically lasts until Noa stops talking and breaks eye contact. If either are still in play, the spell persists. Or at least, that's how it worked back home. (Once again, players are encouraged to decide how a spell fails, if they want it to fail!)

Unrelated to any permissions, Noa's glare can occasionally break glass. Actually his anger in general, when peaked, can cause glass to shatter. Oops.

Energy Rattle As noted above, Noa's rattle serves as his source of 'feeding' in Medietas. By shaking the rattle, he drains energy from others in the area, as well as distracting them in a sort of trance-like state. Both the energy drain and the distracting trance can be opted out of.

Electric Magic Noa has ELECTRIC MAGIC. He can create electricity, he can spit it, he can channel it-he can do a lot of things with it, which is why it goes under HERE. If players don't want any risk of getting struck by lightning (or being bitten for that matter, but 9/10 times he opts for the electric shock since it's less hands on), comment below!

More information on these powers, and Noa himself, are of course on his app. Beyond that, I look forward to playing with everyone!
noasark: (WHO MEEEEEEEE?)
Snake Tail Body & Scales along the upper body
As all naga are, Noa is snake-like from the waist down. His body is that of a saw-scaled serpent, in brilliant fiery hues with scales sharp enough to burn. These scales however, cover most of his body as well-his torso, arms, and even sections of his face-namely the bridge of his nose, and the space between his eyes and brows.

Snake Eyes & Snake-like Features
Naga are known especially for their snake-like eyes, with slit pupils, but Noa's eyes take them to a whole new level. His irises take up nearly the whole of his eyes, filling them with blue. Aside from this, his nose has flattened to become like a snake, and his ears have disappeared entirely-if one looks close in fact, his mouth stretches open to those points, his jaw in fact reaching just near to those positions. As one can imagine, the inside of his mouth has thus altered itself as well, and he bears a long snake-like tongue with which to 'smell' the air.

Poison-producing Fangs & Digestive Consequences
All of Noa's teeth have fallen from his jaws, replaced by two long, retracting and hollow fangs. Because of this, Noa is unable to take in solid foods except by swallowing however, and due to how long it takes for the muscles in his upper body to pull things down, it is fairly painful to try it in chunks beyond a certain size. As such, he tends to blend his food-food that then sits either for many weeks while digesting, or passes through simply as a consequence of his boons from the Fog God.

Naturally, hollow fangs mean that he has poison reserves-and the ability to inject said poison into others. This poison is undoubtedly lethal, dissolving the insides of the body until death (Though Noa, naturally, is immune to it).

Heat Vision & Other Eye 'Magics'
A Naga's magic is most potent in the eyes-Noa's, in particular, is so potent that he wears glasses to keep their effects from 'turning on' the minute he looks in the direction of anything. Aside from a natural ability to see by means of heat signatures, Noa's eyes are able to cause a number of magical conditions; the simplest of them is tied to his anger, breaking glass if he becomes too irritated or stressed. The others are different however.

By looking someone in the eye, Noa can lock someone in place, paralyzing them on the spot. Even worse however, is that he can hold this paralysis-gradually turning them to stone before leaving them to suffer and die.

Claws, Hood, & Snake Rattle
There are more physical features at Noa's disposal, though they are admittedly the less utilized ones. His claws see use the most out of necessity, if anything-being on his hands, it means that he puts more care into filing them to more manageable points for better typing. His rattle is next in line, various beads sitting at the end and only ever shaking if he's truly quaking with fear. His hood, however, is practically useless; a flap of scales that hangs off his shoulder, it would typically be able to flip upward for a threat display if not for the four snakes off Noa's head.

Hair Serpents
Four ball-python sized snakes grow out from Noa's head and live among his hair, having been there since they were mere 'hatchlings' of sorts. Acting very much like normal, domestic snakes, they're somewhat 'doofy' despite their size, and tend to not be much of a threat. Because they're long enough to reach his waist however, Noa is unable to cut his hair very easily, so he tends to leave it long. All four are white/silver morphs, with blue eyes.

The snakes each have names: Ektrad, Aska, Skalvasp, Bjorken, each the Swedish name for the four trees featured in the Lithuanian folk tale 'The Queen of Grass Snakes'.

Travel Form
Like many monsters who bear the traits of existing animals, Noa has the ability to take the form of his-namely a larger than typical 'saw scaled viper'. His poison is still just as potent, but his body is weaker, and easier to damage while in this state. The trade off? He moves far quicker, more so than even his already swift-moving naga body, an impressive feat indeed.

Cold-Bloodedness
As an unfortunate consequence of being a snake, Noa's heart no longer pumps blood as it would in a mammal. Rather than sending warm blood through the body, blood must receive its heat from elsewhere, and the result is that Noa is incredibly susceptible to the cold. In fact, even being 'generally chilly' is enough to make him lethargic, and 'lax' in his attitudes, simply brushing everything aside for the sake of sunning inside somewhere.

Hunger for Flesh
Noa, as a Naga, bears a hunger for flesh-specifically he must eat meat at least once a month in order to properly sustain his sanity. However, because of his mouth, Noa can't properly chew such things-instead, he typically shares with his vampire housemate, disposing of bodies by blending the entire thing into shakes. Because of how much he needs to eat in one sitting, the trade off is quite successful.

Runes from the Mountain
A mark of his trek through the now destroyed Plaga's Peak, Noa is covered head to foot in various runes following the marks of a monster he doesn't even know. These markings shine occasionally, but they are only noticable over his scales-on his skin, they're hardly noticable.
RYSLIG INFORMATION PAGE
Secondary Feeding Method - Energy
A spell obtained when he obtained Tier 2 ranking, Noa is able to feed on Energy; this is typically used in a pinch, due to it subsequently weakening the target, and the feeding is performed by way of mesmerizing another with his rattle. The longer he rattles his tail, the more intense the pull of the other's energy.

Hunger Instinct
As a benefit of siding with the Fog, Noa is gifted with an internal clock of sorts, a sense of absolute dread and anxiety that overtakes him as he draws near to his berserk limit for feeding. Whether or not he realizes that is what this is, however, is unknown.

Adept Transformation
Having killed in the name of the Fog God while following under the old boon rules, Noa has access to an impressive monster form...in the fog, at least. While both forms are able to dig with ease, his non-fog form of the Basilisk state closely resembles a lizard of the same name, albeit with additional limbs. About the size of an iguana, it carries all his powers as a Naga...including, somehow, the strength. It is more believable in the fog-where, still eight limbed, the more snake-like beast that he becomes dominates.

Because of this transformative state, Noa is able to take an additional, humanoid form of this shape as well, while keeping his strengths. This form trots on eight legs, and bears the same sails and spikes of both forms. It is a form that he is, however, limited to 8 hours in, and a form that requires 24 hours to pass before he uses it again. As such, given that it increases his hunger considerably on top of this, he tends to try and time his basilisk transformation with his time at home in order to properly get in and out.

Tier 1 Modification - Wavering Eyes
Noa's Eyes, as a gift of encouragement and an additional reminder from the fog, bear a curious trait when their powers are active; the iris surrounding the slit pupil seems to gradate and shine, rippling through various shades of blue and green, and even the occasional red. When his glasses cover them, this effect cannot be seen.

Tier 1 Power - Poison Spit
An extension of Noa's natural capabilities, he has increased reserves of poison, primarily for the purpose of lunging and spraying his opponent with streams of venom from his fangs; the venom only reaches its full potency if it somehow enters the bloodstream however.

Tier 2 Modification - Wing Hands
Another gift of encouragement, reminder, and in essence an extra 'boost', Noa has been given large hand-like 'wings' which are able to fold and unfold like a fan. They can grab objects with all the dexterity of a set of oven mitts, and can throw with the same strength he has through his remaining body. Like the rest of him, they are covered in scales, and their tips are clawed.

Tier 2 Power - Trussst In Me
Noa is able to trigger this spell, once again earned as encouragement and reminder, by making eye contact with his victim and speaking; in doing so, Noa will cause them to view and relive their worst memories, tied to what they associate with his word. He must continue speaking, or continue making eye contact for this to work. Speaking, however, is the more potent option, constantly reminding the other of what they are watching-and if Noa is aware of what they fear, then it is all the more potent indeed.

Enhanced Strength & Ferocity
A hold over from his time under the old boon rules, Noa retains great strength and power during the fog-while he lacks a true berserk nature, he is more quick-tempered during the fog as a result...though he does become visibly softer around other fog followers (and the reverse around fourth followers).

Tier 3 Monster Form - Bakunawa
In return for pledging his utmost loyalty, Noa was granted the ability to transform into the waterborne beast known as the 'Bakunawa', a legendary sea serpent bearing heat sensing wires and enormous wing-like fins. Though unable to swim very deeply, Noa is able to swim just beneath the surface in this state, holding his breath for as long as 15 minutes provided he has the energy to do so. Additionally, his mouth is large enough that he can potentially carry and even protect another monster...excluding such things as full size trolls of course.

Tier 3 Power - White Lightning
Noa is now able to manipulate the flow of electricity around him, even weaponizing it for his own purposes. He can also create far more powerful forms of it from the air around him, or spit non-manipulable bursts from his mouth. The electricity he creates personally is always white, making it somewhat difficult to catch in thick fog.

Dyster House & Immediate Revival
Having finally shown some potential among the Fog God's ranks, Noa has been given a small house of his own located in Dyster, fortunately suited to his serpent needs. It backs into a small rock-wall, and while it still resembles something of a small cottage, there's a hot spring pool with a natural garden hidden within the rock wall itself-a place where Noa's 'pets' may safely reside while he stays there. Both the garden and spring are fairly large-however, Noa additionally has a guest room here, in case he wishes to protect a neutral ally.

Should Noa ever die, he will revive here in his home immediately, as will any neutral ally he so chooses to protect.

RYSLIG INFORMATION PAGE
General Appearance
Noa in general holds himself to an aristocratic level of pride and stature, an odd sight indeed given that he's physically-and arguably mentally-merely 11 years old. Sporting a set of glasses that hang on a chain and use impressively strong clips to sit on his nose, he keeps his hair neat and his scales shined and polished, right up until the time comes to shed skin.

Over all, he can thus be said to be one of the most well-adjusted monsters in passing appearance-though 'passing' is the key term here.

Grooming Routine
As noted, Noa keeps himself very clean-he bathes daily, a process that involves swimming through a large pool of his, and then dries very carefully before tying it off with sunning. His hair is brushed around the snakes, and his shed skin is dealt with via large stones lining the hall between his washroom and closet.

When it comes to the scales on his face, it can be a little trickier obviously; he has a pumice for this, and fortunately for him it takes about as long as taking out contacts to get rid of the milky scales over his eyes when this occurs.

Daily Wardrobe
Keeping a very neat appearance, Noa's wardrobe consists primarily of suit tops and vests; bottoms are useless to him, but he does at least have a set of customized saddle bags that he commissioned for better travels, travels that are too risky for his dear wooden chair. This combination of looks makes him fit in very well in Bavan-very well indeed, though he stands out considerably in Dyster as a result.

Sleep Wear & Habits
Because of the fact that he's cold blooded, Noa's sleeping arrangements are fairly unique. His bed, to start with, is beneath a 'cave' of sorts in his bedroom, stuffed with cushions and pillows. His bedclothes on the other hand, are long and warm-long enough to cover almost his entire tail. The reason for this is that he doesn't need to be able to navigate and move through the night while he sleeps; his metabolism practically guarantees he won't need the washroom, and if he does need to wake for whatever reason, he'll probably have to take them off anyway.

Taking the nightwear off is easy-he practically sheds it like skin. This happens more than he likes as well-despite being diurnal with a typically sun-based schedule, he often finds himself woken by the whims of his night-restricted friends.

Feeding Habits
Noa's metabolism is quite slow-however, he still has to eat regularly, due to his constant use of the basilisk form. What is curious about this however is that because of the relations of his spell, it still seems as if his metabolic rate is unchanged...he's simply eating far more than one would think needed. He's almost constantly drinking something blended up, even if it means hurriedly draining a glass and dumping the container before work.

Noa has made numerous purchases while in Ryslig; these include a walking, living chair (40 coins), a pet 'creature' (60 coins), and lastly his penthouse home (60 coins). He does not often feel the need to use them.

Noted Items Noa has had in Ryslig Include
  • 'Fog Opal' - Discarded, now; it was used during the City Divided event in Vandare to create a cloud of fog and sow chaos.

  • 'Tyst' - A small terrier puppy given to Noa by his friend, Touya, during the Tanabata festival. Tyst is a fairly quiet dog, generally barking only if startled, and she seems to share Noa's preference for sunbathing, relaxing, and walks. Time will tell if she grows out of it, but in Noa's opinion you don't grow out of acting older.
  •
Noted Items Noa has Received through Tikbalang & Mana Include
  • The Walking Chair/'Egle' - Noa's first 'pet' if she can be called that, it is a wooden chair that walks upon a pile of sprawling roots, with the chair back and arms formed of the overturned branches. The chair is able to close itself much like a clam, and is incredibly 'all-terrain' despite appearances (though obviously, she cannot enter the water). While naturally susceptible to fire, Egle tends to be kept far out of danger, as her use as Noa's chair has passed. While he occasionally uses her for large cargo runs, she's now free to roam his pent-house garden and enjoy her beer (which she takes instead of water in order to live) for the rest of her life.

  • Mystery Pet/'Hyde' (from 'Hydenellum') - Obtained from Mana after requesting 'something new', they were hatched by Noa himself after he brooded the egg for three days. It is a curious beast-one which grew larger, with longer and sturdier legs to carry it 'spinning' as time went, before finaly becoming the size of a turkey with legs that allowed it to perch in such a way one could mistake it for a decorative shoe-rack or umbrella holder.

The main body has no visible mouth, and they secret a strange waxy substance resembling blood to keep their eyes moisturized, as they don't blink. Seemingly immortal, they're quite attached to their 'mother' as well-their favorite thing is for Noa to give them belly rubs, as the bottom of their body is coated in short soft fur.

  •
    Noa's Penthouse Apartment
One of the first purchases Mana ever dealt with, Noa's penthouse is large and somewhat well hidden. There is no entrance from it that any normal being can find-and the top is mirrored, meaning that from where it sits far above other buildings, anyone looking to it seems to view nothing but more sky. The main penthouse itself is enormous; a great garden sits outside, complete with large trees (including Hyde's birthplace). The main apartment meanwhile has Noa's comforts of home; his bedroom, his study, a main floor living room with a wonderful fire place (the latter of which carries heat to every room on the second floor)...From there aside from a kitchen, there is a massive washroom, complete with a bathtub that might as well be a large lap pool.

What is unique about the apartment beyond this is that Noa must take an elevator down in order to get in and out, before digging a tunnel beneath the entire building. His roommate however, must dive down the large hole containing the elevator; this is because his own room is downstairs, far beneath the earth in a cave like structure, simplified to his bed, study desk, and washroom!
Recently, Noa ordered a small addition for 20 coins; a guest room that goes down from his garden, for Touya. The room is rather insulated thanks to the location, and it wasn't too difficult to hook up to the electricity either.

    Noa's Daily Activities
Noa works full-time for Liewen Laboratories, typically working Day Hours in order to try and improve the network devices. Keeping relatively to himself, he generally does his work and then leaves, preferring not to socialize there. From here, there are many things that he tends to do; most of them consisting of finding a nice corner in either Pandemonium or Madoka's Cafe, with a nice hot coffee, and a good book. Since entering his penthouse is somewhat difficult when he hasn't hit the 24 hour mark of his basilisk form, he'll typically head to one of two places for bed; home, or Dyster.

Sometimes, his friends have other plans however-not to mention the rest of the peninsula.

    Kulen Parasite Event
Noa was in fact not infected during this event at all!

    Control of Center Event
During the terrorist attack staged by the Bloody Bones, Noa was caught in the crossfire of the Pryda District Attack in Bavan. The quick acting curse caused a then paraplegic Noa to melt into his walking chair, his arms becoming tied to the massive branches of it, while his scales coated much of the wood. His face melted off entirely, while his hair snakes gained a 'halo' of sorts, becoming blinded by the disk over their eyes, but being able to carry his voice through their mouths. Thankfully, he was not totally blind; the back of his chair grew a good number of eyes through which he could see.

    Plaga's Peak Event
During Plaga's monster alteration event, Noa arrived at the mountain a human being-and came out an arachne going through their final changes. Within seconds, what initially manifested as four awkwardly bent legs became a full blown tick's body, complete with a large behind fanned and 'cloaked' by great leaf-like feelers. This moss-like pattern covered his entire body, only stopping near his many eyes-and his mouth, meanwhile, needed to close around a set of pincers.

Needing to feed on meat as an arachne, Noa tended to piggy back off other murders rather than commit them himself. He roomed with his 'ancestor' (or presumed ancestor) Seto at this time, making things easier in this regard. As an arachne, he carried all of their abilities in web-making and poisoning, but had little time to utilize them before he was forced to shed the entire lower spider body and begin his changes as a Naga. More details on this form of Noa can be found here.

ALL HALLOWS MONSTER REFERENCE LOCATED HERE

    CURRENT MONSTER REFERENCE LOCATED HERE

NOTE: While present changes are to date, the timeline is NOT.
    NOA KAIBA | NAGA
    CURRENT INFORMATION: COMPLETE
    ● Snake Body — Noa bears the body of a sawscaled viper, which is largely red and brown in colouration. He bears the associated 'saw scales' along the sides of his body, which are sharp to the touch. At 24 feet long, Noa is now able to slither properly as a naga, 'periscoping' a portion of his body to stand at his original human height. When not moving, he can potentially raise himself to a higher point; this strains the body somewhat however.
As much as he no longer needs the root chair, he still keeps it around, as he's become rather fond of it.

    ● Coldbloodedness — As a snakelike monster, Noa has become coldblooded. This allows him to withstand great amounts of heat, something he actively seeks out, but on the flipside makes him sluggish and weak in the cold. Snow, as such, is quite unpleasant to him, and he bundles up as much as he can, using blankets to cover his scales. Furthering this, he becomes rather 'lax' during colder seasons, unable to work up the energy to bother with too much that irritates him.

    ● Scales Over the Body — Noa currently has many scales over his body, and they have formed what can at best be called a 'suit', covering his arms, back, and even his chest. They end at his throat, with the scales moving back behind his head to some extent, before moving downward to frame part of his face and cover the eyelids.

    ● Hood — While his 'base snake' is hardly a hooded sort, Noa has a hood nonetheless. Resembling a large cape of scales, it can fan out with his mood, or simply be pulled over his head like a curtain of cloth. Typically it remains around his shoulders.

    ● Claws — unlike his fangs, Noa's claws are quite useful at the moment; resembling long, almost scale-like nails, they slice through meat with as much ease as his 'saw scales'.

    ● Snake Hair — Most of Noa's hair remains as it is, but four small white snakes have also grown out from his head. Because of where they are located, hair cuts are difficult, so Noa's actual hair has become somewhat longer since the snakes grew in-it in fact now reaches his waist. The snakes are just as long, and are as wide as his forearm having reached full maturity, so he can cut his hair to keep it trimmed at least. Their names have still not been mentioned ICly, but they are called: Ektrad, Aska, Skalvasp, Bjorken, after the Swedish names for four trees featured in a folktale focused on the 'Queen of Snakes'.

    ● Snake-like Facial Features — While much of his face remains human in appearance, his nose has flattened, and a few scales cover it, giving it a more serpent-like appearance. This look is emphasized in his fog form, where his face even juts out slightly in a 'snake snout'. Adding to this, Noa no longer has visible ears; there are yet holes he can hear from, but these are covered by his hair, and he has to wear his glasses using a strap.

    ● Snake-like Eyes — Noa's pupils have become slit, giving his eyes a snake-like appearance. The irises have also grown larger, taking up a significant portion of the sclera-so much so in fact, that the whites of his eyes cannot be seen unless he looks in extreme directions-even then, it is only a corner of white. As such, Noa has able to see heat; he cannot 'turn it off' however, so he uses glasses to offset the effects, as he has discovered that the ability tends to automatically fail when it needs to penetrate glass. Notably, due to his alliance with the Fog God, his eyes seem to have an iridescent waver to them when his abilities are active.

    ● Paralyzing Gaze — As his eyes become more snake-like, the power to paralyze with a stare has begun to come in; by making eye contact, he can lock someone in place long enough to approach and hopefully poison. When utilized on humans, prolonged exposure begins to turn them to stone, so he wears glasses to prevent the effects on others.

    ● Mirror Shattering — Not only can he lock people in place, but glass-or at least, reflective glass-will shatter in his very presence if his emotions get the best of him. The degree of damage is directly linked to his rage; mere annoyance will thus create a small, but growing crack, and so on.

    ● Venomous Fangs & Venom Immunity — much like a viper, Noa has retractable fangs in his mouth, connected to venom sacks in his body. They are the only teeth in his mouth as well, and with his jaw's ability to dislocate, it is easy to employ a venomous strike. Naturally, he cannot poison himself. The Fog God granted him the ability to not only inject this venom, but also spray it over long distances if he so desires. As such, he has larger reserves of venom.

    ● Flexible Jaw & Throat — Without the presence of most teeth, Noa is unable to chew his food. As such, while he prefers pre-blended and liquefied foods, his jaw is able to dislocate. The skin of his face and body can stretch significantly as well, allowing him to swallow prey larger than his very head, provided it is soft enough to crush down.

    ● Snake Tongue — Like a snake, Noa bears a split tongue, which is longer than a normal one. He can use this to 'taste' the air and 'smell' prey.

    ● Wing-Like Structures — Technically enormous, webbed hands, what resemble wings function more as folding baseball gloves. These great structures are five fingered, and clawed at the end, and bear a fearsome pattern upon them. Growing from under his hood and from his shoulders, they can be used to clumsily grab hold of things, and are typically folded behind him like a cape. They were granted to him by the Fog God.

    ● Travel Form — Noa has the ability to take the form of a large version of the sawscaled viper, though this form is far smaller than his normal self. It is also much faster than his normal self, which makes it useful for, naturally, travel.

    ● Fog Form — Now that his transformation as a monster is complete, Noa has unlocked a 'Fog Form'; a form of himself which, by the power of the Fog God that he follows, is far stronger than his typical self. In this shape, his hood springs up from his back, and his four snakes reach enormous size. His hair flares out as a side effect of this, while his scales become emphasized and sharp.

    ● Basilisk Form — As a follower of the Fog God, Noa has been granted a unique second form-a greatly powerful one, which can burrow through the ground. Outside of the fog, this creature appears as a tiny, multi limbed lizard about the size of a young cat. During the fog however, he grows to an immense size, larger than a horse and capable of all the things he could do as a naga and then some. Between these shapes, he can also take a humanoid form, bearing the legs of his basilisk self and the burrowing ability as well. He tends to use this form in order to do his 'casual digging'.

Bakunawa Form — After pledging his loyalty to the Fog God in a most impressive manner, Noa was granted an enormous and powerful beast as a form he could take, the finned snake 'Bakunawa'. Large enough to shield and carry a monster in his maw, he is unable to swim far into the depths as a true sea snake would, but he is able to hold his breath for as long as 15 minutes while swimming beneath the surface...provided he has the energy.

    ● Hunger — As with all monsters, Noa is required to feed on humans in some way. At the moment, while he does not hunt actively, he cooks and eats human flesh during each fog. Thanks to the power of the Fog God, he is able to accurately calculate when he needs to eat.

    ● Mountain Runes— Thanks to his experience with the Mountain God, Noa bears numerous runes across his body (technically the same rune). Unbeknownst to him, they resemble those of a Blue Eyes White Dragon variant from his world. These runes are virtually invisible on his skin, but are prominent on the scales, where they shine white. In the dark, they glow a pale blue as well. These runes do not seem to change between his various forms, curiously enough; they only alter their positioning as needed.

    HOW'S MY DRIVING
NOA KAIBA | MANTICORE | FOG

    BAVAN RESIDENT

    PERMISSIONS

    * FOURTH-WALLING -- Rather not, not even sure that would be allowed
    * BACKTAGGING -- Perfectly fine! Threadhops are also ok if all involved agree!

    * HUGGING/GRABBING -- He's thirteen, and he is bitter, and he is largely a greyhound sized cat. So you can try it, but expect hissing, spitting, and possibly a bite. THAT SAID.
    * INJURY -- PM first if it goes beyond minor cuts and scrapes (so like broken bones or leeched energy). Goes without saying that any actual dying means heavy plotting.
    * MIND READING/SIMILAR -- ASK FIRST
    * ROMANCE -- As noted above, Noa should be considered thirteen when it comes to most matters- for that reason, I prefer to stick to his age bracket, with nothing beyond light kisses if it gets that far. Also, he's...got the body of a cat so. ( ????? )

    WARNINGS

There are none so far, but if anything is brought to my attention, I will add them here.

Do you have questions or concerns about Noa's character? Potential squicks or phobias you wish to address so that they're avoided in the future? Leave a comment here, and I'll make sure to keep that in mind.

Additionally, if you wish to do some plotting beyond game events, you can leave a note here for that as well. Just leave a comment below, and I'll get to it ASAP!

Please note that this page will be updated as Noa's location, appearance, and deity alliance change.

    OOC INFORMATION
    Name: Usagi
    Contact: [plurk.com profile] usagisquared
    Other Characters: Reira Akaba, Loki

    CHARACTER INFORMATION
    Character Name: Noa Kaiba
Age: '17' (Physically and...arguably mentally 10. Computer life is complicated.)
    Canon: Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters
Canon Point: End Virtual World Arc
    Character Information: Here!

    Personality:
A complicated sort, Noa can be described neither as a child nor as an adult, in any total sense. As one who was preserved mentally at the age of ten, his mind after all failed to mature beyond that state--while his intelligence grew exponentially, his supercomputer mind taking in as much as it could acquire, the spirit behind it could never mature.

To see what sort of person this resulted in, one must thus look not only at who he was during the majority of his screentime in the series, but also who he was before this. Little is revealed about Noa from this time, but from what little there is, it is clear that he was a happy--albeit no doubt spoilt--child. His father had him take part in numerous activities for the sake of increasing his skill and knowledge, and unlike Seto Kaiba, the boy who would replace him, Noa enjoyed every moment of it. He would study his years-above-age-level work dilligently, practice numerous sports, instruments... ...While one could argue that a boy in this position could be just as cruel as he was through the series, his attitudes immediately after his death say otherwise.

Noa as a living child, and even recently dead child, was clearly polite--and even grateful--for what he had. He enjoyed all that he experienced, and was perhaps despite his intelligence even naive; wanting nothing more than the continued love of his father, he desired above everything, his approval. It is for this reason that when he was told that Seto had been adopted for the purposes of a mental challenge--a final test on his worth as the CEO's heir--he latched on intensely to the idea of surpassing the other. It is just before this however that we see Noa grow bitter to his situation; the limitations of the program his father created meant that what should have given him happiness was simply a continuous, unchanging record, a dream that could not be altered. His attitudes, veiled by his once sunny, polite demeanor, quickly sour, and this is first viewed with his rage within the program itself when he cannot so much as even make a different choice on his 'food', throwing stones at his gifted puppy and receiving no reaction. It becomes more evident however, during the very scene his father realizes the change Noa has undergone--after a 'birthday trip to space', wherein Noa first thanks his father for the experience, and then follows with 'Ah, but of course, you would have seen this data yourself while uploading it~'. Bit after bit, it becomes clear that in his bitterness, Noa has latched on even harder to his father's love, coming to view his existence within the computer as a gift to further this. In his efforts to appeal to him, he uses his growing abilities within the system to reveal to Gozaburo a strategy that could successfully annihilate all but 3% of human life, adding that, as a computerized existence, the matter of how many survive did not matter to him.

His empathy, it seemed, had been swallowed by code--replaced only by dedicated obsession. It is here that he is presented with the challenge of defeating Seto; however, before he could do so, Gozaburo vanishes, already seeing the boy less and less within his computer home. Gozaburo, Noa discovers, is killed...sparking bitter rage in the boy for what he felt would have been all he needed to totally gain his father's approval. This results in the boy we see throughout most of the Virtual World. Throughout the course of the arc, it becomes clear that Noa is absolutely dedicated to his escape from the computer, and to 'surpassing' Seto as he rightfully should have. His vindictiveness has reached an absolute peak, his sights set on entering reality in a human body and taking over the company that his father intended for him to take. His dedication here, while unclear early on, is absolutely connected still to his father's ideals; in his eyes, there is only him, and there is only making him happy. As such, even without Gozaburo there, he must prove himself to the man in death, thorugh whatever means are necessary.

Noa, as noted, seemed entirely devoid of empathy through much of the series due to his existence as a computer program. He acts cruelly, seeming to be entertained by the suffering of others, and quite deliberately going out of his way to have the 'last laugh', as seen when he tells the Big 5 that he employed as his pawns that they could never have succeeded in escaping to the real world--sending them into a despaired rage right before deleting them without mercy. He plays memories of the past for Seto in particular, and hounds him continuously with the teen's history; but at the end of it it is clear that such actions are less for the sake of those actions, and more because of who they are in particular. The Big 5 had formerly joined forces with Seto to overthrow his father, sending Gozaburo to his death. Seto in the meantime had already become someone whom Noa had a personal vendetta with, believing him to be a thief of what was rightfully his; Seto, in Noa's eyes, should never have become CEO, certainly not without proving himself first. While Noa of course feels that it would have been impossible anyway, it is this fact that drives the stake further.

While his bitterness and cruelty knows no bounds, using Seto's younger blood brother against him in a move of emotional manipulation when the opportunity arises even, he employs a curious sense of fairness in his methods. While he is certainly not above trickery and deceit (As noted by his aforementioned use of emotional manipulation, along with other examples, such as the repeated sight of painful memories and illusions), his limit becomes clear during the duel between Jonouchi Katsuya and the businessman taking the form of the 'Judgeman'. When it becomes clear that the Judge is rigging the dice rolls within their game, he not only steps in, but immediately announces that the duel has been cancelled, showing a Zero Tolerance attitude for blatant cheating. To him, using others as pawns to the advantage is simply using tools, something that was taught to him by his own father--therefore, it is only with immediate, rigged results, or underhanded tricks done by his own hands, that he cannot prove his own worth against Seto. This explains as well, why he viewed the use of Mokuba in all of this as 'fair'. Mokuba was not kidnapped by himself, but one of the Big 5 within the virtual world; he simply recovered him, and after manipulating the boy's memories, banked on the fact that Mokuba would come to him when he was in danger later on... ...Thus cementing his success against Seto in his eyes.

The matter of Mokuba brings in a rather key part of Noa's personality--something that arguably shapes every aspect of his being. Within the computer after all, Noa had only one person to love, and that was his father. When his father ceased visiting, he was thus left alone, with no companionship at all. Because of this, Noa became desensitized to what it meant to have an attachment to another person. Repeatedly he is astounded by the strength of the connections between those who come into the Virtual World, despite his readiness to use those bonds against the others. It comes to the point that, after witnessing Mokuba's dedication to Seto, he openly craves the bond for himself. Arguably, he has been lonely the entire time, but it is only witnessing the connection between others that allows him to realize that lonliness and thus act upon it. And as the overpowered child he is, he thus uses all he has to get what he desires, just as he has dedicated everything to appeasing Gozaburo's memory.

This need and craving for companionship is further emphasized in both desire and in a lack of understanding in the key duel of the arc; he clearly understands the importance of Yugi's friends when it comes to his opponent's resolve, turning them to stone one by one so that he can shake the other--however, he also states midway that if Yugi sides with him, and agrees to be loyal to him, he will save not only Yugi but all of his friends as well. From many others, such a deal could be seen as shallow. However, Noa has by this point already proved himself to up hold his sides to any bargain. He is not above making deals with even his enemy--and as the former heir to a CEO, is quite skilled when it comes to such discussions as well, bearing a very fluid speaking ability without any hesitance. While his zero tolerance policy toward things such as the deal with the Big 5 show clearly what he thinks of failure, discussions that fall outside the realm of pleading for a second chance.

First with the Judgeman, we see him consider Jonouchi's request to continue the duel with the Judge even with the disadvantage the latter's cheating has left him at--and while Noa scoffs at the motion to take what is clearly the ticket to loss instead of success, allows it (albeit for the likely fact that Jonouchi's loss seems obvious, and the outcome in his eyes will not affect his own chances at success). This repeats when he faces Yugi, having only won his duel against Seto due to the previously noted manipulation; in using Mokuba as his shield, he prevented Seto from attacking, thus successfully winning the match. As the method through which Seto lost left him with lifepoints however, Yugi steps forward with a deal--he will use a combination of his deck and Seto's, with Seto's remaining lifepoints, in order to defeat Noa and prove the boy's loss a matter of trickery instead of skill. As he again feels there is no risk of loss, Noa thus once more accepts, feeling that there is no risk in accepting the offer. When it comes to Noa after all, he gauges the risks involved as well; and although he bears an incredible sense of superiority at this time, he continously makes note of whether or not something is worth bothering with (as seen with his deals with the Big 5, where he remarks that he doesn't actually care who the men duel, as either way it will work in his favor).

When it comes to his duel with Seto and then Yugi, there was the added notion of pride to consider. Noa is seen from the very start to be incredibly prideful, more than aware of the vast amounts of knowledge at his disposal. With that knowledge, he feels he surpasses everyone--with that knowledge, he might as well be a 'god' (directly stated himself during that duel with Seto in fact). He is therefore untouchable--his actions thorugh the season a mere game, really, and for that reason when someone questions that intelligence, Noa snaps. A slight against his skill is one he does not take lightly at all, manifesting first as irritation, and then as he comes closer to outright loss, rage. He is a child, in the end, and when he is unable to hide behind a mask of intelligence and proper superior 'politeness', he thus devolves to that obvious state--his words losing their refined nature until he can do no more than scream for those in front of him to 'shut up!' and to 'stop looking at [him] with that face!'. Loss shakes Noa--and when he is at risk of losing at all, he becomes reckless and even 'damaged'. After his betrayal at the hand of his own father, the man to whom he had dedicated everything, we see this in full. First, there is the initial fallout of course; the faltering and even crazed statements to others that 'it isn't so bad' in the computer world show clearly how much love he had for the man, and just how deeply everything he worked on came to connect to his goals for Gozaburo. They show again as well his need for companionship, though perhaps in this case to a lesser extent.

His destructive habits however, are something we see only after this. Noa is an incredibly vindictive child, acting on impulse toward those who have wronged him in his eyes. Soon after his breakdown he very quickly comes up with a plan to not only again escape the computer world but also destroy the computer itself...and therefore, the three who he detests so much at this time. His father, who betrayed him after all he had done for the man, and had even gone so far as to blatantly tell Noa that Seto had been intended as a body for the boy, only to declare that he would be taking Seto's body as his own using the systems Noa created. Yugi, the duelist who had defeated him. And of course, Seto... ...who at this time represented still everything he wanted and had lost.

Noa's cunning combines here with his rage just as it did before the season began, as he formulates this plan. He tells everyone that, given his father's words, he will help them escape--instead tricking them into a program once again, and further fooling Mokuba into a trap that allows him to steal the boy's body instead of his brother's. With this, Noa moves to access the systems from the outside world, redirecting missiles that his father had set on the very destructive path he had told him about years ago (the plan that would erradicate most of the earth in 30 days) toward the base where the computer lay. The lives of all the others within do not come to mind at this point--only his desire for vengeance, and more importantly, survival.

Time within a living body however allows Noa to regain the heart and empathy that he lost in his solitude--or perhaps more accurately, as hinted by his shock just before taking Mokuba's body, to fully realize it. Before he takes the boy's body, Mokuba voices sympathy and even empathy for Noa, causing the other to briefly falter before he mentally decides that Mokuba is simply being foolish--or perhaps more likely, is even still affected by the mind altering code he created. Though Mokuba offers to get his brother to build the other a body, Noa simply escapes, setting the path of descruction on course and allowing a certain other within the facility to destroy what he will. As he sets off on his escape route however, he thinks harder on Mokuba's words and actions--and in doing so realizes that Mokuba, unlike anyone else thus far, had cared.

For the first time in years, Noa experiences regret, and remorse, breaking down in the cockpit of the helicopter he intended to escape with. This regret only intensifies when he returns to the controls of the facility to find everything destroyed; the missiles cannot be shut down any longer, leaving them twenty minutes to get everyone to safety. Noa here returns to the sort of boy he was before death in a sense, while retaining his intelligence gained over the course of the years. While capable of great cruelty and malice, he sets out to warn the others through the system of what is coming, helping them to escape one by one. It is implied of course, that he is doing this only for Mokuba--and indeed, his choice to save Seto after all the hatred he showed toward the other make things questionable--but his very words to Seto, as well as his words afterward, show that he has realized his own wrong doings regarding the teen. He apologizes completely for his actions, and switches places with Mokuba one last time, allowing the brothers to escape not only for Mokuba, but also for himself; for at this time, he wants nothing more for them to survive.

And in his case, to die. Noa is ready to atone, and here accepts that he is dead. It is likely perhaps that he feels his father suffered the same emotionally crippling effects that he did within the system, though his love, blinding as it has been, could also be what binds him there. Noa at last states that he is "A human. Not a machine", and locks his father's mind within the system while stating that they will now die together, and be together in peace.

While incredibly calm in his final moments, and kind, these final traits are only a fraction of who Noa is. Similarly, while it would be easy to refer to Noa as little more than a cruel and lonely child, those very actions show that this is far from the case. It is only in blending these sides of him together that one can see his full self. Noa is, at the core, an intelligent child, immensely so, who even within the computer world desired nothing more than to know more. It would likely have been something he pursued in reality once he escaped in fact, and there is no doubt that he would have sought out everything he had ever missed. He is intelligent, and as well as that, cunning--able to come up with and enact strategies and plots that are immensely difficult to overcome, while patient enough to set such plans into motion...and as shown in his final half hour, able to come up with equally crafty plans on the fly. His pride however blinds him--he is all too aware of his intellect, and lauds this over others, feeling as if there can be nothing that can face it in turn. What he finds obvious is obvious, and while he is absolutely able to hold a civil discussion with others for reasons beyond 'business', internally, he still clutches to this superiority. If he is proven wrong nonetheless, his first reaction tends toward irritation, and childish grumbling--or perhaps, in the case of more groundbreaking losses, absolute wide-eyed shock or fear.

As a child, he is emotive--while he can restrain himself with great skill, and manages to withold tears in most situations, he can be brought to them all the same, and openly lashes out when he is enraged. He laughs openly, he shouts--and loudly, easily upset as he is when it comes to what is personal. For the most part however, he attempts to hold himself 'maturely', something that was likely in part drilled into him through his living years. This results in polite (albeit still somewhat childish) speech, and in turn, many hidden barbs toward others when he feels particularly snippy--rather than break the facade of pleasantries, he tends toward emotional stings for as long as he feels he is truly in control. For all that he will openly manipulate and deceive however, he has a curious sense of honor to go with it all. For Noa, skill is not proven if it is achieved through lesser (cheating) means, and he has no tolerance for such actions, nor mercy as well. While it is likely now that he could perhaps show perhaps a little more forgiveness toward those he deems deserving of it, he holds no remorse for those he considers true 'failures', and if required, would very easily be able to dispose of them. The fact that he could deem others deserving however, connects well to what goodness he bears.

As well as that core need for companionship. A connection to others is what brings out his kindness beyond mere 'fairness', beyond what side of him allowed for the decision to send those from the Virtual World back to reality. Desiring it as he does, he tends to follow those he interprets as being truthfully kind to him, and in turn, becomes absolutely vicious toward those who would take it from him. He is kind to those he feels deserving of kindness--sometimes for selfish reasons, certainly, but as shown with his actions toward Seto Kaiba himself, also because of an awareness of his own place in things. While it is likely that those more like him would be met with harsh bickering in any conversation, the chances of him thus becoming attached if things go even remotely well for him is absolutely there. It is, perhaps, a naive trait of his--but then after all, he is still in the end a child.

He has much to learn, and much to develop in terms of maturity--his emotions must yet catch up to his knowledge of the world, just as his naive knowledge of human action must catch up as well. Noa after all, could never have predicted the nature of others, and their desire to protect what they love, not beyond manipulating them as tools--not until he experienced it himself.

As such, in summary, Noa is a rather proud child, who while capable of absolute cold mercilessness, bears a sense of fairness and even kindness as well. His motivations in the end are somewhat lost as one who has accepted death, perhaps, but as one who craves knowledge and more importantly companionship beyond anything (save his father's love, which he feels he has anyway by the end of things), he will have no trouble adapting. Adapting after all, while something that doesn't suit him entirely, is still something he does well, being able to formulate plans of both vengeance and assistance within moments when need be. As a child, he can be rather selfish--thinking for himself before others, and thus using his polite words to weave his way around for what he wants before anything else, but should those he care about be caught in the crossfire, he shows not only remorse, but a great desire to rectify his actions at whatever cost. He is a man (or rather, boy) of his word, however much he can hold a grudge, and though he will work his way through whatever loophole and obstacle there is, at the end of the day he stands by what he says.

He is, in the end, perhaps a rather sad child, in addition to it all...

But then perhaps a second chance at life is thus what he needs in order to better realize himself beyond the realm of the computer.
