LIEWEN LABS WELCOMING COMMITTEE
The Liewen Labs have in the past been known for arriving on-scene for new arrivals to collect information and pass about Laptops, but these days Noa has turned focus away from the 'labrat' treatment and farther into the 'support' method. Insisting that they have long since gathered all they can on the state of new arrivals to Ryslig and what connection there could be toward monster transformations, he emphasizes that the new must be shown kindness, care, and a willingness to work with rather than against.
"It is disorienting enough to awaken in a new place with nothing but the clothes on your back- adding in their eventual fate, it is vital that as much help be offered as possible."
To that end, Noa has created the Welcoming Committee.
The Ladies of the Tables
While not present at all arrivals, it is becoming a familiar sight to see two or three older women from Noa's labs at the distant edge of wherever newcomers have arrived. These tables are typically fit according to the weather- a canopy roof for whatever might be pouring down, some folding tables and chairs (with spares for those who need it), and a number of lanterns to cut through the fog.
While seemingly defenseless in the face of any monsters hoping to grab a free bite, Noa himself tends to stay near the site as security- and thus far there haven't been any troubles.
The Ladies of the Tables are there to offer information on Ryslig alongside Noa himself- bearing pre-checked pamphlets with information on various monsters (though occasionally a reprint of something about 'fur bearing trout' makes it in), they will eagerly offer a chance to leaf through a more indepth copy of Egon Spengler's Guide to Monsters; a book that covers the basic information of every known monster to date.
Also at the table are packages from the Haze, containing vouchers and coupons for food and necessary supplies, information on options for shelter and housing, and simple goods such as needed toiletries. Colder months see additions of mittens, scarves, and even coats to these packages, due to the unprepared state most newcomers can be found in.
The table offers as well, various copies of the Liewen Laptops, a vital communication device for Ryslig's setting- though many have often found older models scattered about on site instead.
Lastly however, there's simply a good feeling of comfort wherever the table goes- there are often kegs of cold or warm drinks according to the season, spare chairs to rest upon, and plates of simple home-baked cookies made by the ladies themselves. At least one is also familiar in first aid, if someone needs it.
The Labs and The Cabs
Of course, as noted above, the Ladies cannot always be present during an arrival round- many situations become far too dangerous even with Noa's protection.
In these cases, Noa often has them set about a mini-network of friends and family with cars; they'll be driving about looking for newcomers, and offering either a ride to the Labs or directions for the more cautious, where the same Haze packages and resources can be found. Noa himself does much the same, albeit by foot or by wing.
