Believe me, we tried.

The world beyond the mountains was razed quite soundly by the fog god- our attempts to see for ourselves resulted in our powers waning until we were so fatigued that it was impossible to cope. Those of us there passed out- and were transported back within Ryslig, covered in...markings.

Do the locals know nothing? Folklore? Stories? Surely at least someone has imagined the other side.
It's so strange, this place... should have been connected to something, the odd mixture of cultures, and technology, and history. That doesn't normally come from isolation...

It's weird.

Nothing that they've shared in any case.

Considering how many have played with magics that they shouldn't have, and brought havoc or amnesia upon those around them, I can't be surprised. Many people likely just don't know- and genuinely at that. What they were connected to again, no longer exists.

This was made sure of- that much is clear.

The 'odd mix' is largely perceived as it is- other than Kulen's...matter with the Day God after all, these things developed naturally, and for a reason. Their history is, in the end, still theirs.

It's simply something that came from peoples seeking refuge in this place long ago.

Well, thank you for the brief history catchup! I haven't really been able to speak much to the locals, myself.

Is everything going well at the labs? It's been rather quiet on the exploration side.

Ah, yes that's right you might not have received the update yet.

Rather unfortunately, we might have to put more thorough investigation efforts on a slight hold; everyone in the department will still be compensated and paid for more minor work, but with all of these fires, we just need to do what we can toward reconstruction.

A lot was damaged after all.

But I'll keep mapping out the peninsula if you're happy with that. I do wish this place was a bit bigger, tough!

Yes, it's rather unfortunate...

Actually I was going to be posting a formal update regarding the department. I need your efforts moved into rebuilding for a short period- aside from allowing the Labs to relocate our resources more effectively, it might help salvage our reputation with the rest of the city.

I can't imagine they view monsters so kindly right now.

Ah- Is there, uhm, anything I can do from outside the city?

You know what my issues with that are, after all. Maybe in the smaller areas? I could bring deliveries in for your staff?

I can find something I'm certain, but there isn't much; the best I can do in the long run for now is make certain to prioritize your help for locations in the outskirts rather than within the city.
