Because there was no point.

What would killing anyone, let alone the majority of the planet, do for me? Not only would I not feel anything toward the result, I wouldn't even have anything to occupy my systems with. At least with humans present, I could follow the paths any given individual would be taking.

I suppose I could have killed small numbers of people with that logic, but again-why bother? Murder is an act that requires a purpose, whether that be emotional gratification, or material gain. We can put 'sustenance' under that category for the time being, while we're here.

It was pointless. The most it would do is waste time, and I couldn't have cared any less about that.
